Screening looks for disease before symptoms. If you have symptoms, ask for a clinical assessment instead of relying on a screening package.
Choose tests
- Ask which tests fit your age, history and previous results.
- Confirm eligibility and costs. Do not assume visitors qualify for Korea's national screening programme.
Understand limits
- Ask about false alarms, missed disease and unnecessary follow-up tests.
- An abnormal screening result needs assessment. It is not a cancer diagnosis by itself.
Arrange results
- Confirm when each result will be ready and who will explain it.
- Arrange further care and obtain reports if you leave Korea before the assessment is complete.
